((News)) Modern Warfare 2 Confirmed Attachments & Perks

Today we take a look at the recently revealed multiplayer game play walkthrough and delve into what was shown in terms of weapon attachments as well as what we can expect from the new Perks. At still over a month away, this is going to be a tortured wait.

Attachments
Returning from the previous game are the standard, beloved attachments in the form of the Red Dot Sight, ACOG Scope, Silencer, Grip (which may be usable on a lot more weapons now), and the trusty Grenade Launcher. However there are six known new attachments coming in Modern Warfare 2. These are...

Heartbeat Sensor: This nifty new attachment basically gives you a short-range radar which detects nearby enemies. By the looks of it the attachment is indeed fairly short range as well.
EOTech Sight: Not too sure about this, to me it looks like an upgraded version of the Red Dot Sight. Will have to wait and see exactly what it does.
Thermal Scope: Pretty self-explanatory, this weapon allows you to see the thermal image of your enemies through the scope, making it much harder for the enemy to hide.
Master Key I Shotgun: Another pretty straight-forward weapon attachment, this one gives you a gun-mounted shotgun.
Akimbo: Available on certain weapons only (maybe even just small secondary weapons), gives you two of that weapon that you dual wield.
Extended Clip: Extended Clip replaces the Bandolier perk and does practically the same thing.
???: I have yet to see the name for this new attachment, but I do know that it increases the rate of fire of your weapon and acts as a replacement for the Double Tap perk.

Perks
Perks have undergone a rather hefty revision. Most of the equipment perks have been removed, things like 3x Frag, 3x Specials, Claymores, etc have been removed. Claymores are now selectable as regular equipment in addition to certain other Tier 1/Blue perks from the first Modern Warfare. Also, as stated in the Attachment section, a few perks were removed and made into attachments instead. There is also some kind of Pro Perks system, though I have not seen how the Pro Perks work yet.

Tier 1/Blue Perks
Bling:
Allows you to take two weapon attachments, but only on your Primary Weapon.
Marathon: Replaces the Extreme Conditioning Perk and gives you unlimited sprint instead.
Sleight of Hand: This perk remains unchanged from its Modern Warfare incarnation, it has just been moved from Tier 2/Red to Tier 1/Blue.
Scavenger: When you move over an enemy corpse you get a full resupply of ammo, etc.
"Unknown": During the demo, this perk was locked. We'll have to wait and see what it does.

Tier 2/Red Perks
Cold-Blooded:
This perk replaces UAV Jammer and makes you invisible to UAV, air support, sentries, and thermal.
Hardline: Your killstreak rewards require one less kill to activate.
Lightweight: Your running speed is increased. May also increase your regular movement speed.
Stopping Power: Seems to have remained unchanged from its previous incarnation.
"Unknown": Yet again another perk that was locked during the demo showcase.

Tier 3/Green Perks
Commando
: This perk increases your melee range, possibly the distance you can throw your throwing knife as well but that's been unconfirmed at this point.
Scrambler: Not sure exactly what this one does yet. There's a bit of controversy over what it does, but when I find out what it does I'll let everyone know. Note that it's not what makes the radar go fuzzy in some of the gameplay videos, what's doing that is one of the new killstreak rewards.
Steady Aim: Looks to have remained unchanged from the last game.
Three "Unknown" Perks: There were three perks that were locked out of the demo for this category. Odds are at least one is Martyrdom, though we can only speculate at the other two.
